Who is Nicole The Bookish Cinephile?

Who am I and why did I create a blog called Nicole The Bookish Cinephile?

First, let me introduce myself. My name is Nicole. I am originally from Puerto Rico but I currently live in Florida. ! I grew up in Jacksonville,

Florida where my life long love of books and movies began.

I have been a life long academic. In college I lived my life long dream of studying history. The only downside: I am a bit judgmental on popular history & historical fiction (although I do read both). In 2012 I went on a life changing study abroad where I discovered a love of art history. After graduating from college in 2014, I started my master's degree in art history in where I focused on Renaissance & Baroque art & architecture. Meanwhile in January of 2015, I started working part time at my university library & started learning about the library & information field. In 2016, I graduated from my MA, started my MS in Information-aka library school-, and started my first full time job as a library staff member. Today, I am finally in my last semester of graduate school!

Although I am in the library field, my posts, thoughts, and opinions are my own & are not part of a school project, work project, or any kind of statement from work.

That said, I want to use this blog & website to share my thoughts, opinions, reviews, and overall musings on the realm of a bookish cinephile.

What is in this realm? Well of course books & movies will be reviewed, discussed, compared, and put into lists. I also want to delve into award shows, exhibitions, and theme parks. Since I am a fangirl, I will talk about fandoms: merch, related exhibitions, culture, and impact.

While I love both books and movies, I have varied interests & hobbies that will appear on my blog. Since you asked...they include: cooking, traveling, listening to podcasts, watching youtube, visiting museums, watching sports, & finding new places in my current town or wherever I am visiting.
